Did they allow you to play classic Konami games, or were they just ads at halftime? Rad Racer 12:37, 4 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- You were able to play a "shoot 'em up" style space game between periods. Masterhatch 17 July 2005

With the pass?
[edit]I have been playing the game for many years (not so frequently now that I am older) and to me, it sounds like "With the pass". I could be wrong though. I wonder if there is any way to find out exactly what is being said. Masterhatch 17 July 2005
I always thought it was "with the pass" too Regoarrarr 20:08, 24 July 2005 (UTC)
In the arcade version you can hear the announcer much more clearly due to the higher sound quality, and he actually says "gets the pass." There are a few other sound clips that you might hear after a successful pass, too, not just that one. I hear you guys barking, though. The NES sound bite always sounded more like "back to pass" to me, like the guy was playing football instead of hockey.--Zequist 06:19, 20 August 2005 (UTC)
I have only played the NES version, but I always though the voice over said "with the pass" too, although I have heard some people maintain that the quote is "it's a pass." I don't think "hits the pass" can be accurate since the sound byte comes on whenever you press the A button, regardless of whether the pass is successfully completed or not. 2:52, 7 January 2006.
I always thought it said "it's a pass", FWIW Priester 20:44, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
Penalty Shots
[edit]It's been YEARS since I played this game, but didn't the penalty shot thing only happen when you tried to pick a fight when there were already two of your opponents players in the penalty box? MyrddinEmrys 07:22, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
- No, the referee called for a penalty shot whenever players picked a fight in the slot, i.e. the area in front of the net. Dr. Lobotomy 01:51, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
It clearly says Hits the pass. As in the pass was a good one the team hit a pass. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.227.8.24 (talk) 06:41, 5 June 2009 (UTC)
Team From Minnesota
[edit]In 1988, the North Stars (hailing from Minneapolis) were Minnesota's NHL team. Brief googling didn't help me confirm that this team was supposed to be the north stars so I defer to someone who has the game and can verify.
- Speaking of which, Minnesota isn't a city, so I deleted the phrase "the cities of".
Peter Zetel rumour
[edit]A citation and maybe some clearer information is needed on the claim that Peter Zetel's likeness is used in the game. Where is it used? I don't personally remember anything resembling much more than a tiny sprite representation of a human.--InformationalAnarchist (talk) 05:45, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

Wayne Gretzky?
[edit]The article is currently categorized in "Wayne Gretzky games". However the article itself tells nothing about this. Is this some prank or error, or is Blades of Steel really connected to Gretzky in some way? Niera (talk) 18:47, 28 June 2018 (UTC)~
